I would imagine with how New Genesis would possibly be balanced that hopefully every course is workable like how Dragon's Dogma Online cleaned up the vocations so they were all complete packages that Meseta pso2 players could expand on and flesh out without having to engage in things like what Phantasy Star Online 2 now has (specifically Mags determining which courses you'll excel at and your ability tree also determining exactly what you gain and lose). I'd personally drop the entire skill tree, and the most important class/subclass method to have something such as Dragon's Dogma Online failed with all the custom skills, core skills, along with the augments with the capability to mix-and-match reinforces, that everyone unlocks core skills and has them collectively, and that players define their playstyle with their custom skills. A huge portion of that preference for me is so you could definitely spend your time and resources into updating and unlocking new abilities and skills and then after you are all done you can go back and mix-and-match items to your liking without even realizing you would have to drop in money like you now do if you wanted to build something like the best principal course tree and a version for an optimum subclass tree, or even invest in another Mag since you are missing about 6-7% of your overall damage (and therefore are missing 200 points to equip your weapons/units).
Regardless of the intense grind the match becomes towards the end (for instance, running the same dungeon like roughly 40-80 times to acquire one level, amassing Blood Orbs and High Orbs to unlock the small stat boosts that add over more time, and more), I've believed that Dragon's Dogma Online is definitely a good instance of an online game I believe has certainly nailed the"open field" exploration with solid gameplay, optional combined multiplayer, and provides both a challenge and comparatively casual experience for those who want it without setting up nasty traps for players to get caught in to mess up their builds. I never enjoyed in Phantasy Star you can mess up your ability trees even though you get the free opportunity to reset them (it does not help when I'm trying to assist new buddies play and they spent their things without me directing them or notifying them on why they don't need STR Up and they wind up running through Level 50+ with no stances and core skills).
Guess it is for the better because it's the basic PSO formula.
Its better to not be an Open world to tell the truth, remember how Maplestory good maps were hogged by Top level Buy Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta players and AFK Vacuum Meso Farming bots, or what about Hackers vacuuming the mobs and the World Bosses to an unreachable area players can't access without no clip hacking out of bounds and that bot simply kill all of them in a minute and loot it all, and sell them into the Player Shop for exorbitant prices to get Meseta to sell RMT from? Yeah that is gonna be a bad look for an open world MMO. I wouldn't mind a Pawn, such as Dragon's Dogma, that learns from you while you play together.
